Davao, Philippines

Sleeping Dinosaur, Mati

📌 By Jakub Mikula | August 20, 2019

In early May 2018, my friend John invited me to join him on a visit to his hometown, Davao, Philippines. This was the second time I visited the Philippines, and I could not have been more excited. We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, and then from Manila to Davao (this was a much cheaper connection than flying from Singapore). The weather was fantastic. The Davao region offers everything a traveller like me could wish for - beaches with crystal clear water, mountains (Mount Apo is the highest mountain in the Philippines (see my other post: http://jakubmikula.com/travelling/2019/08/22/Apo), hills, islands, peninsulas, kind people, and fantastic food). On this short weekend trip, we decided to visit the Sleeping Dinosaur peninsula in the Mati area of Davao Oriental, and the Samal Island waterfalls.
